Dhaka Art Summit 2016: An Epiphany…

 

It started at 5th February 2016. They called it the largest art summit of the world. This program made the highest participant attention. But what had happened inside it? Now it's time to re-analyze it. Rethink about it. Because it is known country's biggest art event and such an event represents country's philosophical and visual taste; maybe it is a commercial event of a private group of company who organized it so they have enough right to represent it in their own way. But as a viewer I feel I have some responsibility to make this event more appropriate and I highly appreciate this event not only its size, taste and attitude that organizers showed us but also as in same time I must say that this year there are too many works or presentation or representation in a place which make people suffocated. We know about Asian art biennial which is always try to make itself as the largest art event but finally we lost a beautiful art arrangement. I hope that organizers think about it and recall our past experience and put their exact future footsteps and make this event glorious day after day.

Art is not science and there is not any rule or formula that human civilization creates the absolute path or process for art work. It depends on individual own searching way, as in same time way of thinking depends on your earlier process of thinking. Actually your own reality makes you to think that way. Reality is an experience. Experience makes you solving problems and problem is what tormented you for few moment. Art comes from individual’s psychological process and you never think or see like other people. So you can not represent your art object as same as another artist’s art work, no one has no right to copy other innovations as in same time everyone has that right in which way he or she can choose his or her artistic journey. Art is always a way of finding individual own. The year 2016, we believe that we have right to rethink and reconstruct our way of thinking, way of presentation and finally deconstruct our earlier values. At the same time we have to recall our country's art movement. We always believe that our earlier art movement is based on western art activities; at that time we claimed that our first generation artists forget our rich culture and heritage. That art movement never represents our country culture, even we don't find any innovative presentation in the world contest. Now we discover a long way to recreate our past by our next art movement, we stand on a strong base. Now this summit memorizes me one fearsome question that to prove ourselves as modern artists. Perhaps we invite our old past and walk on the same path. We believe that artist always thinks one step early before people thought, so recall your past to reconstruct your way of thinking process and present your innovative presentation. Finally I must appreciate organizers’ hard work and their strong steps to arrange this event.
